Artz Ribhouse (2330 S. Lamar): Bring your banjos and a trash bag for the jam at Artz Rib House this Sunday, February 15th! (Although some would argue that we should ask for a banjo in a trash bag, we have a much higher purpose for the trash bag...)
As you probably know, recently there's been a major volunteer effort to help Art and Z fix up the restaurant. One volunteer, working on the landscaping outside, noticed a lot of trash in the back parking lot. Since that parking lot has been the site of CTBA jams for many years, we're hoping that our pickers will take a half-hour or so of the jam this Sunday to clean up the mess. With all their recent problems, Art and Z would very much appreciate this support! Bring a trash bag, gloves, and--if you're the gardening sort, a clean-up tool (shovel, rake, etc.).
The jam usually is going strong by 3 PM, and continues until the band starts playing at 6 PM. Of course, folks are welcome to come earlier and get some of the picking (up) out of the way.

Bluegrass will survive and thrive
only if talented young musicians carry it forward
into the future. The Central Texas Bluegrass Association
has established the Willa
Beach-Porter CTBA Scholarship Fund, to pay for
scholarship awards to students who have demonstrated
a serious interest and performance talent in bluegrass
music, and who show a need for financial assistance
to support their musical studies. Please support this
great program by donating today.
